Quick an easy breakfast bars

This basic recipe for creating your own snack bars is a fantastic base to build your own bars.
These bars with only a few ingredients are loaded with fibre, low gi carbs and some good essential fats. There is no added fats or sugar, the banana does most of the work, making these great lunch box fillers for kids as well. With the addition of certain ingredients you can tailor make these bars to meet your needs. Add crunchy pine nuts and the pinoleic acid will help make these bars leave you feeling fuller for longer. Linseed or dried prunes and they will keep you regular.
Store bought bars are sometimes a good option, but mostly they are expensive and are loaded with fats.

INGREDIENTS
– 2 cups oats
– 4 ripe bananas (1 1/4cups liquid)
– 1/4 cup chopped nuts
– 1/4 cup chopped dates
– 1tsp vanilla
– pinch of salt

Mash the bananas till completely smooth and liquidy add to the rest of the ingredients, combine well and back for 25-30 minutes in a 180°c oven till golden and starting to pull away from the sides. Allow to cool till warm and then cut into blocks, allow to cool completely and store.
