    Our final event for October will be our chance to celebrate gay pride at The Cookery so join us for Flamingo’s, Flambés and Fabulousness [Sunday 31 October; 09h30 for 10h00; R550] will be a wonderful brunch to celebrate the fact that no one hosts brunch like a gay man!  No seriously!  It couldn’t be brunch without bubbles and that could only mean Pierre Jourdan Belle Rose who have been keeping us company since our very first pride brunch, a wonderful menu of 15 recipes and a chance to celebrate love, in fabulous style!

  • Caribbean Sizzle

    Caribbean Sizzle [Tuesday 26 October; 17h30 for 18h00; R500] will be a celebration of the food of Caribbean, covering recipes from Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada and Puerto-Rico.   This is the food that tastes like an island holiday, it tastes like sunshine, hot days and spices, and rum.  Simple food built around great quality simple ingredients and spices, recipes include Baigan Choka; Spiced Jerk Chicken; Jamaican Chicken Curry; Buss up shut, nutmeg icecream and more.

    Far East Feast [Wednesday 27 October, 17h30 for 18h00; R500] will be a chance to explore the flavours of far east Asia, including South Korea, China and Japan.  Recipes will include classic South Korean  Yangnyeom-tongdak (Spicey, sweet & sour fried chicken) and we will also be sharing the secrets to folding your own Pork & Chive Dumplings and the secrets for creating the ultimate Chicken Yakitori with a smokey ginger, garlic & soy dipping sauce.

  • La Dolce Vita: Tropical Heat

    Then it will be time for our La Dolce Vita: Tropical Heat [Thursday 28 October; 17h30 for 18h00; R550] this event will kick off with delicious Daiquiri’s made to the original recipe from the famous Floridita Bar in Havana (with lemon, lime, white rum and cherry liquers) and then to keep us company a selection of delicious foods from around the globe, but all linked by their connection to the tropics.

    Then it will be time for My Big Fat Greek Dinner Party [Wednesday 13 October 2021; 17h30 for 18h00; R500] this event will be a celebration of the connection between family, food and life as celebrated by Greek culture.  This class will be about creating food for sharing, food to bring people together, recipes will include Mint, Lemon & Prawn Pilaf, Tomatokeftedes; Leek & Feta Cheese pies; Loukoumades, Saraglia and plenty more deliciousness.

    Tacos & Tequila [Thursday 21 October 2021; 17h30 for 18h00; R550] this class is all about the magical pairing of Mexican food & Tequila.  The class is a celebration of all things deliciously Mexican and of course of Tequila!!  The event will include 15 hands on recipes which will include Chocolaton (Mexican chocolate mousse); spicey fajita chicken, charred corn salad; queso, and more.

    After having tried and failed to host a special 420 event earlier this year and being thwarted by lockdowns and such, we are back once again to try and host what we think is a much needed bit of kitchen fun and madness.  The Mad Hatters oh-so-High Tea Party [Sunday 24 October 2021; 14h00; R500] will be an afternoon of creating munchie-busting delicious, moreish tea time treats, and a chance to share the kitchen with like minded chefs and to have a good old fashioned giggle and nibble!   • The Cookery Gift Vouchers

    If you are looking for the perfect gift for someone who loves to cook, spend time with friends and learn new things then a gift voucher for The Cookery is a brilliant idea.  Designed to give the recipient access to any event, we have more than 96 planned for 2019, over a full year - we suggest getting one for yourself so that you can join in and don't miss out on any the fun. Vouchers cost R500 per person or the limited R400 (access to the simpler #mondayswithmilo class only) and are valid for a full year and will cover the recipient for all relevant public classes (excludes Secret Sunday Brunch).  We like to customise every voucher so we need you to send us an email, saying who the voucher is for, whether it is for a single or a double ticket, and of course who the voucher is from.  We will then get you your customised voucher and the necessary payment details.

    The following Covid-19 Regulations to be in place until further notice:
    These measures will remain in effect until such time as there are new or additional guidelines.
    The following precautions will be taken:
    1.  Hand sterilising stations will be available on entry and at each workstation, but as always we strongly recommend hand washing with water.
    2.  The venue will be sterilised between events and food safe anti bacterial/viral will be used to keep the kitchen safe during classes.
    3.  Public class sizes will be reduced to a maximum of 16 guests, minimum of 9/10 guests.
    4.  All guests will be required to register their details, temperatures and who they cooked with at the beginning of each event
    5.  There will be 6 possible work stations, only guests who arrive together will be permitted to cook together
    6.  To accommodate the groups, tickets will be sold in two's, but please note we can accomodate 2 possible groups of 3 or 4 in each public event, but this will need to be discussed with us.
    7.  Throughout the event all guests will be required to wear masks
    8.  We will still offer table seating after the class with as much spacing as possible, however should guests prefer not to eat in, we will allow take aways.
     9.  Events will now commence 17h30 for 18h00 to allow time for recording of information and to allow for an earlier end time
