  • Festive Season Entertaining

    We could not finish our year off without hosting our Festive Season Entertaining (12 November; R480) event, this hugely popular event is all about creating the most amazing Festive season menu, dishes to share with family and friends over the December holidays.  Designed with preplanning in mind, and also created to try and keep hot hours spent in the kitchen at a minimum the menu will include loads of recipes, everything from a gorgeous smoked salmon pate to a fresh & zesty prawn mango & avo salad, perfect little ricotta & spinach gnocchi, much lighter than their potato counter parts and perfect for summer eating to a wickedly good white chocolate, caramel, cranberry and pistachio ice cream that may just change your life!  Since it is SA and it couldn’t be December without a braai we will be creating some great recipes for our Weber. (Due to the popularity of this event we will be repeating the event on two dates to give more people a chance to join.)

  • Pasta Fresca Master Class

  • Tutto Italiano

    Due to huge request for Italian events, we will be hosting a fabulous new Italian class Tutto Italiano (17 October 2019; R480), this event will give a mix of fabulous Italian recipes from around across the whole country, recipes will include fresh pasta verde (pasta spinach); lasagne verdi (classic spinach lasagne with ragu); insalata di funghi con formagi (mushroom & cheese salad); pollo alla diavola (fiery grilled chicken); fave all romana (Roman Broad Beans), asparagi fritti (crisp crumbed fried asparagus with a lemon dressing) and croccante (caramelised almond brittle) and gelato di caffe con la cioccolata calda (espresso coffee ice-cream with a hot chocolate sauce) and lots more.

    Then it will be time for Il Mare (8 October, R600), this event is focused on coastal recipes from around Italy, with lots of recipes from the ocean, including Gamberi alla Griglia (grilled prawns), Cozze impepate (steamed black mussels), Pasta allo scoglio (Pasta of the reef), Calamari Fritti, Cioppino (seafood stew), pesce all griglia, insalata di polpo (octopus salad) and lots of dishes to pair perfectly with all the seafood.  We will also be sharing a very special taste of Collatura di Alici, called the essence of the sea this delicious Italian fish sauce made from year-long barrel aged anchovies is a rare and special treat, a unique flavor in Joburg. (Please note this class uses shellfish extensively)

Vouchers cost R480 per person or the limited R350 (access to the simpler #mondayswithmilo class only) and are valid for a full year and will cover the recipient for all relevant public classes.  We like to customise every voucher so we need you to send us an email info@thecookery.co.za, saying who the voucher is for, whether it is for a single or a double ticket, and of course who the voucher is from.  We will then get you your customised voucher and the necessary payment details.
