    If you are looking for the perfect gift for someone who loves to cook, spend time with friends and learn new things then a gift voucher for The Cookery is a brilliant idea.  Designed to give the recipient access to any event, we have more than 96 planned for 2019, over a full year - we suggest getting one for yourself so that you can join in and don't miss out on any the fun. Vouchers cost R480 per person or the limited R350 (access to the simpler #mondayswithmilo class only) and are valid for a full year and will cover the recipient for all relevant public classes.  We like to customise every voucher so we need you to send us an email info@thecookery.co.za, saying who the voucher is for, whether it is for a single or a double ticket, and of course who the voucher is from.  We will then get you your customised voucher and the necessary payment details.

  • Fierce Indian Feasts

    If you are passionate about all things Indian then you won’t want to miss our Fierce India (25 April; 18h00; R480).  This class will have classic favourites including bhajia (chili bites) and pakhora (a crisp vegetable fritter), a simple grilled malai chicken (pieces of chicken in a yoghurt and spice dressing), tandoori chicken and some really delicious curries inspired by both North and South India.     There was absolutely no way we could make our Fierce adventure without a visit to the east.  We will be starting our eastern journey in Thailand with Fierce Thailand (23 April; 18h00; R480).  The class will cover all the secrets to creating your own curry pastes, prawn pad thai, spicey salt & pepper beef, and delicious spicey and sweet pineapple & chicken fried rice and finally to cool off the palate we will also be creating a delicious tropical sorbet.

    We are thrilled to have Takuan von Arnim back in our kitchens on Tuesday 2 April at 18h00 (with his hugely popular In the Kitchen series).  This event gives guests a chance to relax and share the kitchen with this passionate winemaker and spend some time cooking and chatting with Takuan about all things wine, food and life. Our menu will be inspired by the foods of autumn and of course our wines will be inspired by the cellars of Haute Cabriere including a wickedly delicious Ratafia Apple Pie with crème anglaise.

  • Latin Feast(a)

    The final in our Feast series will be a Latin Feast class based on classic dishes from Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, and Argentina.  Latin American culture is no different in it’s love of great gatherings where food forms a central part of the celebration, this class will share classic dishes like tostadas, enchiladas, beijinhos (Brasilian coconut sweets) and not so classic but incredibly delicious Beijinhos Ice Cream, a delicate coconut ice cream inspired by the sweet of the same name.
