    If you are looking for the perfect gift for someone who loves to cook, spend time with friends and learn new things then a gift voucher for The Cookery is a brilliant idea.  Designed to give the recipient access to any event, we have more than 96 planned for 2019, over a full year - we suggest getting one for yourself so that you can join in and don't miss out on any the fun. Vouchers cost R480 per person or the limited R350 (access to the simpler #mondayswithmilo class only) and are valid for a full year and will cover the recipient for all relevant public classes.  We like to customise every voucher so we need you to send us an email info@thecookery.co.za, saying who the voucher is for, whether it is for a single or a double ticket, and of course who the voucher is from.  We will then get you your customised voucher and the necessary payment details.

    Due to the huge popularity of our #mondayswithmilo series we have decided to introduce a second event each month.  Here Emilio's focus will be on creating vegetarian and vegan meals, desserts and salads that will leave you asking why you needed the meat in the first place.  As usual the class format will be on two quick recipes per group with all cooking done within the hour. The theme for this event will be Fresh food in a flash, really quick simple dishes that make the most of great fresh produce, plus Milo will share the secrets for creating your own nut butters and creams.

This class will share the secrets of creating fresh food, fast without any sacrifice on fabulous flavours.  Salads, starters and simple suppers will all form a part of the class.

    There was no chance we could miss the movie Chocolat - a decadent story about letting yourself have a little indulgence and about the problem with too much restraint.  Our class will definitely be all about indulgence, Chocolat - A tale of dessert will be all about creating decadent and delicious desserts. My team and I will make sure there is something to eat to get everyone going before we settle in to creating 15 different cakes, desserts and sweet treats - of course our sweet journey wouldn't be complete without a few chocolate recipes from around the world and we think that dessert definitely goes well with bubbles so this evening we will be pairing everything with some delicious Pierre Jourdan Brut & Pierre Jourdan Belle Rose #anytimebubbly.

  • Ignite Your Passion: Adults Only!

    This fun and tongue-in-cheek class will share some great recipe ideas using ingredients famed for their ability to boost libido and sex drive!  Based in principle in some science and with loads of ancient myth thrown in this event is definitely aimed at adults only and is the perfect fun couples night out. Whilst we've come along way since the ancient testicle tree, so called because its fruit hang in pairs, which was rumoured to invoke such unbridled passion that for a while its was banned by a group of priests.  If you didn't know I meant avocados, and we are a lot less superstitious about them now, whilst there is some science (the high levels of folic acid, vitamin B9 and B6 are actually beneficial to sexual health) we think there is something definitely sexy about an avocado panna cotta - its silkiness and gentle wobble! We'll be kicking off the event with a cheeky Ginseng & Ginger Cocktail famed to definitely get things going!

    In keeping with our theme of romantic movies, we are heading out to Skopelos Island, the beautiful island that plays setting to Mamma Mia the movie.  This class, and be warned we've dusted our ABBA collection off, will be all about creating a menu of amazing Greek island favourites.  Think fresh mussels, prawns grilled over an open flame, bowls loaded with delicious meze - marinated feta, flame burnt peppers and loads more. This is all about simple fresh ingredients combined to create delicious heady flavours (and the music of ABBA!)
