    We will be hosting our monthly Secret Sunday Brunch:  The Birthday Edition (26 May; R480) in partnership with Pierre Jourdan.  This fun day event will be made even more fun because we will be celebrating our third birthday!  Pierre Jourdan Brut will ensure this is a celebration fitting of The Cookery, our resident DJ will be in taking care of the music and we are planning a big sumptuous brunch which my team and I will be cooking with everyone else.

    Our final event for May is simply called Tempt (30 May; R480), it’s about all those delicious things that love to tempt us in the kitchen!  Think cheese, chocolate, red wine and more!  This hands on event will cover delicious recipes like baked wine soaked brie, tartiflette (gorgeous cheesy bacon potatoes), chilli chocolate & sour cherry mousse and a wildly rich red wine risotto and the secrets to creating truly tempting beef burgers!

  • #mondayswithmilo: The Cosy Kitchen

    We will be kicking off the schedule with #mondayswithmilo  The Cosy Kitchen (Monday 10 June; R350), as usual Milo’s class is about trying to achieve two great dishes in an hour (though 90-minutes does seem a little closer) these recipes will be all about keeping those winter chills at bay, think warming minestrone soup with home made pesto, delicious risotto’s, polenta wedges topped with a warm mushroom ragout and loads more.

  • Inverno!

    Carrying on with our Italian winter adventure and building onto our Inverno a Casa class we will be hosting a second in the series simply entitled Inverno (18 June; R480).  This event will see us sharing some secrets to creating the classic Osso Bucco, a wickedly good risotto Milanese (enriched with beef marrow and scented with saffron) and we will also be sharing the secrets on creating your own hand rolled garganelli pasta with a simple but decadent parmesan cream sauce.

  • Un Inverno A Casa (Repeat)

    Due to the popular nature of this event we have decided to repeat it to ensure those who missed out a chance to get into the kitchen and share these recipes. Then to really settle in to winter we will be celebrating all things Italian, decadent and homely in our event Un Inverno a Casa, this class will include famous dishes like fresh cannelloni, pumpkin gnocchi and thick rich ribbons of hand cut pappardelle with heady ragu.  Simple warm desserts like the Limoncello budino, a light steamed sponge dessert scented with lemon zest and served with a Limoncello cream – made with only five ingredients this steamed pudding will quickly become a family favorite.

  • Fit Food with John Lucas

    We are excited to welcome athlete, fitness, nutrition and online coach John Lucas in the kitchen.  This event is, what we hope will be, the first in a new series, Fit Food (19 June; R480) hosted by John and  designed especially for athletes looking to help utilize their diet to achieve transformative results.  The class will be designed with the tough lifestyle in mind, dishes are designed to be quick and easy, with preprep in mind, to be low in unhealthy fats and carbs but at the same time loaded with nutrition and flavor.  We will also share some of the secrets of using spices, herbs and vegetables to assist in boosting certain body functions, for example how chili has been shown to boost post eating metabolism, or how pine nuts can help control appetite?
